The Unconscious and the Reflective Nemesis is a film that explores the ramifications of repressed trauma. Frederick, the film's main character, has been tormented by a childhood of neglect and violence. Now in adulthood, he is haunted by these experiences. Unable to cope, he explores psychoanalysis for answers to his overwhelming despair. Dr. Lenore Levine, a psychoanalyst, offers a new treatment therapy that eliminates repressed trauma by means of something called "The Conscious Confrontation Device.” Facing a past that has been shielded by defense mechanisms does not work forever. The breaking point is always on the horizon. For Frederick, Dr. Levine is his only hope.
